The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be in charge of the country for the next 50 years, the Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, has predicted.

The Minister described the PDP as “the only ruling party.”
He futher told Mr Barnabas Gemade that it “will be the ruling party for the next 50 years.”
The Minister asked the audience in the National Universities Commission's (NUC) auditorium for applause, when no one clapped.
A similar statement was last made by the former National Chairman of the party, Vincent Ogbulafor.
Ogbulafor, who said the PDP will rule the country for 60, quit his position when he sided with those clamouring for respect of zoning principle of the which was against the interest of the president.
He later became a guest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over a crime he was alleged to have committed about eleven years before.
