The Ugandan health ministry spokesman Rukia Nakamatte has revealed to theStraits Times of Singapore that the country is currently testing its first possible victim.
“There is a suspected case, samples have been taken from the suspect and we are analysing them,” he said.
Although Uganda suffered from the Ebola epidemic in the 2012, this will be the first person to be tested in East Africa for the disease since its outbreak in West Africa in March 2014.
The patient was stopped in Uganda’s main Entebbe Airport showing symptoms of fever even though he came from South Sudan where no cases of the Ebola virus have been reported.
