Major highways in Damaturu blocked over Boko Haram threats

Damaturu, Nigeria (Bloom Gist) — The Maiduguri – Damaturu highway in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, Northeast Nigeria, has been block for fear of terrorists attacks.


Our corespondent, Zainab Raha, in Damaturu said the road was blocked by security operatives following the resurfacing of assailants.

Zainab said the terrorists were sighted in the evening of Tuesday July 15, 2015 at Benisheikh Town of Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.

They were reportedly seen in Warsala, the last village before Damaturu.

She said motorists and travelers on the highway are presently stranded in the Yobe State’s capital.

The Yobe -Maiduguri expressway has been under danger since Saturday when the insurgents resorted to attacking travelers.
