The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has described the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, as an experienced information manager, a dogged fighter and a dedicated nationalist who is committed to the advancement of Nigeria’s interests.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Minister in his office in Abuja on Wednesday, Mr. El-Rufai said he and Mr. Mohammed struggled in the All Progressives Congress and Mr. Mohammed even got abducted.

The governor said he came to wish the minister well and to let him know the thoughts and prayers of the people of Kaduna State are with him.

He said Nigerians should give maximum support to President Muhammadu Buhari and his team in their quest to get Nigeria out of the difficult situation to which it had been consigned by the previous administration.

In his response, the minister, who said he was excited at the visit, called Governor El-Rufai ”one of our brightest and most courageous”.

He expressed confidence in the ability of the governor to make Kaduna State one of the best states in the country.

The minister said his vision was to leverage the unique power of information and culture to drive the change agenda of the Buhari administration and ensure that Nigerians take ownership of the agenda, with a view to achieving a paradigm shift in the way they do things.

He said the ministry of information and culture would soon launch a massive, national reorientation campaign as part of the efforts to drive the change agenda, and expressed the hope that the government of Kaduna would collaborate with the ministry to ensure a successful campaign.
