Drogba said: ‘I am very pleased to be able to return to the number 11 shirt and I am very grateful to Oscar for allowing me to make this change.’
Oscar added: ‘Didier is a Chelsea legend and a senior player. I am happy for him to take the 11 and for me to take the 8. Lamps is another legend at this club and I hope I will be as successful in the shirt as he was.’
Thibaut Courtois, who has returned to Stamford Bridge from a loan spell at Atletico Madrid, will wear no.13, withVictor Moses switching to the no.18 shirt previously worn by Romelu Lukaku. Dutch defender Nathan Ake will now wear no.6. See below for the full squad list.
Chelsea Football Club understands many supporters will already have purchased the new 2014/15 shirts with the old names and numbers on the back. We will be offering anybody who has proof of purchase from an official club store a free exchange on non-matchdays, subject to availability, from today until 12 September inclusive.
All returned shirts will be donated to the Chelsea Foundation, the club's charity organisation which uses the power of sport to bring about positive changes in people's lives and their communities.
• For those who purchased from the Stadium Megastore at Stamford Bridge or the Kingston Store simply return the 2014/15 shirts with proof of purchase in person to either of these stores for replacement, on a non-matchday.
• For those who purchased from the club's online partner stores (ChelseaMegastore.com for UK, Europe or Africa, ChelseaMegastoreUSA.com for USA, ChelseaMegastoreAsia.com for Asia Pacific) return the 2014/15 shirts by post with a copy of the order confirmation email to the store you made the original purchase from. A replacement like-for-like shirt will then be sent to you by post free of charge.
• For those purchases from non-Chelsea Football Club outlets, the club will offer a 50 percent discount on a purchase of new 2014/15 shirts, upon return of the existing shirt. This offer is only eligible to those who can visit either the Stadium Megastore at Stamford Bridge or the Kingston store in person, on a non-matchday.
Terms and conditions:
1.This offer is open on non-matchdays from today until 12 September inclusive. Strictly no exchanges or discounts will be offered after 12 September. In the case of purchases made through any of Chelsea's online partners, no exchanges or discounts will be offered for items received by those partners after 12 September.
