The fast rissing singer passed away on March 28, 2014 at the age of 28, after losing her battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
At her death, a controversy arose about how she was abandoned by several of her colleagues in the music industry, who seemed to mourn her with social media eulogies, but failed to contribute to her welfare while she battled with the ailment.
This was made known when a reporter paid a visit to her grave in preparation for the one year anniversary of her death.
This reporter visited Ikoyi Cemetery office, Lagos, where after getting the details of the actual place her remains were interred, an extensive search of the cemetery records and register revealed that Zara Gretti was indeed, buried at the Ikoyi Cemetery on Friday, April 4, 2014.
According to the register, her grave laid in Section five of the cemetery. But a visit to the cemetery to locate the grave proved abortive, as Zara’s grave could not be found.
The report further stated that an official at the cemetery offhandedly made the remark: “Do you know if this was the third or fourth time that particular grave was used?”
The official later denied the comments, stating that a grave is used only once.
“We don’t ever use a grave for another corpse once someone has been buried there,”. The official said. But an extansive search turned up nothing, with Zara Gretti’s grave still missing.
