Bafana Bafana, The South Africa’s national team has announced it's readiness to play and anti-xenophobia friendlies with some neighboring countries as a means of sensitizing people on dangers and evil outcomes of xenophobia.
While speaking with news men in South Africa, SAFA CEO Dennis Mumble stated that the xenophobic attacks on our brothers, our fellow African in recent times has painted the image of the great country badly and we want to use this as means or telling and educating people on the dangers, later results and evils that accompanies the act.
“We want to use the two high-profile international friendly matches as an instrument to unite this continent. What has been happening in the past few days have really left most people in a shock and dismayed,’’. Mumble said
He said “Nelson Mandela spoke of the power of sport in uniting people from different walks of life and we want to use the power of football to unite this continent and kick out this scourge within certain malcontents in our society’.”
Details of the two international friendly matches will be announced by SAFA shortly.
