The much talked-about Flying Eagles of Nigeria has started their WYC campaign with a shameful lost.

The team, which is being managed by Manu Garba lost their first match 4-2 to the junior Samba boys of Brazil. The south Americans began the game of the front foot, not allowing their African counterparts to settle on the ball as they took the lead in the fifth minute through winger Gabriel Jesus.

But the Flying Eagles were quick to respond after going behind with Manchester city starlet Kelechi Iheanacho hitting the woodwork with a well timed lob over the keeper in the 9th minute. The resillience of the Flying Eagles was rewarded with an equalising goal in the 10th minute through Success Isaac.

The African champions took the lead in the28th minute with a goal from Musa Yahaya but the Brazillians responded well with an equaliser in the 34th minute through striker Judivan in what was a thrilling first 45 minute.

The Brazillians just like in the first half, started the second half on a strong note going in front again through a 59th minute strike by midfielder Boschila and in the 82nd minute after a slip by the Nigerian goalkeeper Enaholo, striker Judivan got his second of the game and made it 4-2 in favour of the brazillians.

The flying Eagles now lay bottom of the group and would have to up their game as they would need victory in their remaining 2 games against North Korea and Hungary if they are to progress past the group stage of the competition.
