Eight officers shot, two killed in Bahrain 'terrorist attack'

The authorities did not specify the nature of the attack nor did they assign responsibility to any group.
At least two police officers have been shot dead in Bahrain after they were targeted in a "terrorist attack", the attack was confirmed by the interior ministry.

This was carried in a statement posted on Twitter on Tuesday morning by the ministry, saying eight other policemen were injured, three of them seriously, in the attack in Sitra, a village on an island south of the capital, Manama.

The authorities did not specify the nature of the attack nor did they assign responsibility to any group.

Shia- dominated Sitra island is the scene of frequent clashes between security forces and demonstrators.
