Senate Ethics Committee release exclusive report on Amaechi

The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, Public Petitions has released an exclusive reports on The former Governor Rotimi Amaechi’s conduct while holding public office in Rivers State.


The  Committee recommended “that since the Ministerial Nominee [Rotimi Amaechi] had gone to the Court of Appeal, to challenge the content of the petition and the white paper of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry, the Senate is unable to recommend the consideration of his confirmation.”

The report has been at the center of controversy surrounding his screening and confirmation process to be minister. The Committee’s chairman, Senator Samuel Anywanwu, argued that Mr. Amaechi could not be screened by the Senate until the report had been reviewed.
