Reportedly, some of their Staffs who are currently aware of this plan are extremely scared of losing their jobs and the few who spoke to Bloom Gist via a telephone conversation on the 16th of November 2015, made it known that their fear began right from the very moment they got the information, though they have no idea as to when and how it will happen.
"That is what everybody is talking about here"; a shell staff said after his anonymity was guaranteed.
"The situation is even worse for some of us who are nontechnical staffs" a Chevron staff said!
"Up until now, the number of Staffs who will be affected is unknown to us but we are aware that the list being compiled has been mandated to include about 95 percent of Staffs from finance (audit and accounting sections), human resources, government, public relations and communications, among others, while the remaining 5 percent will be made up of technical Staffs who are due for retirement and those with incriminating memos in their files"; he added.
The Bloom Gist crew have been informed that this restructuring is as a result of the major losses encountered by both companies.
Just as Chevron and Shell had done, other International Oil Companies (IOCs), by the weekend, published unprecedented losses in the third quarter, which came out to be the toughest since the economic downturn began; the Chevron, Shell and Eni trio published losses amounting to about 12 billion dollars as their outlooks dimmed in three months.
