Some operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have besieged the Ikoyi, Lagos, residence of their former Director-General (DG), Kayode Areh, and have thrown out his belongings, The Cable reports.
A source told Bloom Gist News that the DSS officers arrived at the residence of their former director at about 3.00pm in two buses, broke down the doors and threw out his property.
A household member of the former DSS boss said that those who stormed the residence did not produce any legal document before embarking on the action.
Areh was DG of the DSS from 1999 to 2007 under former president Olusegun Obasanjo, and had been asked to quit the house by the new head of the agency, Lawal Daura, but was given till December 31, 2015 to do so.
This was however upturned as the former DG got a court order restraining the DSS from forcefully ejecting him, a development which reportedly led to the action by the operatives.
