Moses Obi Adigwe also known as the Teddy bear is the winner of the Nigerian Idol Season 3. The 22year old Delta State born young man got on the platform to showcase his talent and made his marks. He beat others to the game. In this interview with Joy Akosa of Nigeriafilms.com, the young champion talks about his life, career and relationship.

Who is the personality behind Moses Obi Adigwe?

At heart I'd like to think I'm a simple guy who just wants the world to be a better place and I try to affect that through my music. I want people to hear my music and be taken away from their problems and troubles and be filled with good memories and great feelings because of my music, I'm the last of four kids, grew up in Abuja. I schooled in Command Day Secondary School then went on to get a degree in Political Science and Public Administration before I got on Idols and won the show.

When your name was announced as the winner, how did you feel, what was on your mind at that time?

To be honest my mind wasn't even there at that moment. I was thinking of things I needed to do after the show. People I needed to call and how much work I needed to do. I wasn't expecting to win. I wasn't expecting my name to be called so when I heard my name I was in shock.

How did your parents feel, Did they encourage you to go and compete at first?

Well my parents wanted me to get an education first before any thing else so seeing as I'd already graduated from school they were in full support of whatever venture I wanted to go into, so during the show they gave their support.

Before you won, I know you did have friends, what happened to them after your victory, do you still maintain any good relationship with them? How do they see you now?

I most definitely kept my friends. Of course a few fell along the way and I'm sad about that but I guess that's how life is. You lose some along the way and you gain some. But I am grateful for those friends who have stuck with me through all the drama and craziness of the show and also after the show.

You are in a relationship I guess? Who is the lucky girl, and how has it been since you won the competition?

I am single, not in a relationship.

Did you choose to be or you haven't found the right person?

I haven't found the right person yet. But I wouldn't exactly say I've been searching that hard. I'm mostly focused on my music and my career right now.

Even before you got to the stage, which Nigerian female singer do you have a crush on?

We've got a whole lot of beautiful talented hotties on the scene right now.

I won't take that for an answer, who do you have a crush on?

*laughs* I think I have a crush on all of them, most especially on Eva, Yemi Alade and Seyi Shay.

How are you going to influence Ngerian youths positively through your success?

Well, I believe that my life story should be inspiring to others out there. Even this year alone. The same show I ended up winning I was evicted from at some point and was brought back and somehow I ended up winning it. And even with winning the show I've tried to create a standard with my music and with my style.

How do you relate with the opposite sex since you won, are they coming to you in droves?

*laughs* My mother raised me to always respect women so I try to always be a gentleman to the ladies and we all just generally have a good time.

You are a celebrity now and much should be expected from you, apart from your music career what do you intend investing your money in?

I always try to get advice from financial experts about what or where my investments should go in and so we are sort of spreading it out.

So you mean you don't have any plans yet?

I do but I'd rather keep them private.

So do you intend reducing your weight? Or you intend keeping that name 'the Teddy Bear'

I'm working on that actually. Wanna trim down a bit

What actually triggered you to go for Idols?

Music has been my passion and a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and the show offered a platform for me to reach my dreams.

How many tracks have you done since you won?

I've done quite a number of studio tracks. Three of which were released a few weeks ago (Number One, Love Letter ft. Eva and Love in the air). A new track is set to drop before the year runs out. I also recently released my debut video for one of my singles "Number One"

Have you been receiving support from other artistes who have been there before you?

Yes I have. It's amazing when I go out for an event and I get introduced to established artistes and they already know who I am because they saw the show and are all looking out for my works and music.

Who would you like to work with?

There's a lot of amazing music pouring from the music world right now and I'm really amazed by the way Nigerian music is branching out to new styles and genres. I am looking forward to working with a lot of artistes here. I'd love to do a track with Femi Kuti, Ego Obaro, MI, Omawunmi, Naeto C, and a host of others.

What has been your greatest challenge so far in your career?

Translating from a music reality show to the realities of the industry hasn't been all rosy and getting people to understand the direction my music is on has been a bit of a challenge but nothing good comes easy and the hard work definitely pays.

What is the greatest thing stardom has done to you?

Everything. I just feel so blessed and grateful every time I step outside and I get recognised. It really touches me when people go out of their way to say hello and well done.

What is your idea of a better Nigerian music industry?

That would be an industry where certain structures are put in place to ensure that artistes actually get returns on their works. We need a body to ensure that royalties are paid and we also need a more effective music distribution system put in place.
