You remember how Toke and Uti mixed drinks at a Fayrouz event earlier this year, well this time around it was Beat FM OAP, Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi’s turn. She learned the craft and dished out Fayrouz cocktails like the Fay Martini, Dirty Fayrouz, Omoge, Virgin Royalty, Ultimate Lady, Tattoo, Implication and Champagne De Fayrouz.
According to the Senior brand Manager, Fayrouz, Nenna Ifebigh-Hemeson – “The maiden edition of the Fayrouz L’Original Expression show is a one of a kind competition which was put together to promote young creative and talented fashionistas in Nigeria. As Fayrouz represents originality and creativity, these two teams have come a long way from where we started and we will continue to encourage them to Bé Original.”
She continued, “Team Elan have proved that they can achieve the best creative results in a short period and this is only the beginning of a successful career path for them… we can’t wait to see what they have for us at the next Lagos Design Fashion week in October!” “Under the guidance of our judges and Omoyemi Akerele.”
During the show, Fayrouz L’Original judges, Mai Atafo, Kunbi Oyelese of April by Kunbi, Kinabuti, Gozel Green and Orange Culture auctioned some of their fabulous designs for ‘Rouz’ courtesy Fayrouz. Guests went wild bidding for some of the outfits including a graceful white beaded gown by April By Kunbi as well as a three buttoned three piece suit by Mai Atafo.
Because of the tough bidding, guests with the highest bids received numerous donations from other guests within the hall, attracting loud cheers from everyone in attendance. The April By Kunbi dress later went to one of the guests who said she wanted it for her wedding. Mai Atafo also shocked the crowd by giving away a second piece of his outfit that was auctioned, as there was a close tie between one of the guests and EbonyLife presenter, Zainab Balogun.
Whatever happened in this photo, it must have been epic to get that reaction from Monalisa.
This auction totally blew my mind… It’s been a really tough bid for this piece and because of this… I will be giving both bidders a piece of this outfit!” Mai said during the auction. “I’m elated to be a part of this event… It’s the first fashion competition for youths and this finale has been amazing!” an excited guest said.
