Solomon Ojo, 47, was on Monday arraigned in an Ota Senior Magistrates’ Court, Ogun State for alleged rape of his daughter.
According to reports, Mr. Ojo, who lives on Abinuyo Street., Ijoko, in Ota, was charged with one count charge of rape.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Rosemary Brown, told the court that the accused committed the offence sometime in 2013 at about 12 noon at his residence.
Brown said the accused forcefully had carnal knowledge of his daughter.
She said the offence contravened Section 358 of the Criminal Code, Vol. 1, Revised Law of Ogun State, 2006.
The Magistrate, Miss Temitope Adebutu, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adebutu said the sureties must have landed property within the court’s jurisdiction and swear to an affidavit of means.
She said, “The sureties should also provide evidence of one year tax payment and submit photocopy of this to the court.”
The has been arraigned till June 3, 2015 for hearing.
