Ohakim apeared before the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a 3-count charge inclusing making a $2.29m (N270m) cash payment for a property in Asokoro, Abuja in 2008.
Delivering the judgement, Justice Adeniyi Ademola while ruling on the bail application by Ohakim, told the EFCC to return his passport and other traveling documents previously seized to the the Deputy Chief Registrar of the court.
Festus Keyamo, the prosecuting counsel, opposed the bail ruling, arguing that the judge should grant an accelerated hearing if the case instead of granting him bail, but judge held that Ohakim had placed sufficient material before the court to warrant him to be granted bail.
