The Nigerian Customs Service, on Saturday, July 11, 2015 intercepted 810 cartons of frozen poultry products worth N4, 374, 000 at Idiroko axis


According to reports, Deputy Comptroller and head of the monitoring team, Yahaya Usman, said the Nigerian Customs Service would partner with NAFDAC eo destroy the seized poultry products at designated NCS premises.

Mr. Yahaya said while his team has an effective collaboration with the residents of the area, as units and commands of the Customs remain committed to totally eradicating the menace of smuggling.

He said his the team is determined to explore avenues of ensuring practical compliance with the Headquarters directive on zero tolerance for smuggled poultry products,.

Yahaya further stated that the launch of “Operation Hawk Descend” by the Nigerian Customs Service will further boost the pedigree of his team operation towards ensuring that fiscal policies of the Federal Government in terms of trade is jealously guided.
