Ikpeazu’s victory was challenged by opponent and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Alex Ottiwhose petition was dismissed for lacking merit.
The Abia governor contested the elections on the platform of thePeoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was sworn in on May 29.
Ikpeazu made headlines in June when he became the fourth governor to slash his salary by 50 per cent in a bid to cut the cost of governance.
Other governors who made the move are Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi and Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano.
