British Diplomat Slumps & Dies at Air Port in Lagos

On Tuesday afternoon, a British diplomat slumped and died at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.

The diplomat was said to have disembarked from a United Airlines Flight UA143 at 3.50 pm local time, and died shortly after, Osun Defender reports.

Before he slumped, he reportedly cried out for help, but no one came to his aid because they feared he may have Ebola.

It is suspected that he may have died of heart-related complications.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, however; the incident was confirmed by airport officials.

Update:

The identity of the man who died has now been revealed. According to This Day, he is British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Peter Carter Leslie.

New reports reveal that Leslie was gasping for breath as he was leaving the aircraft.

Officials from British High Commission and the Port Health Services tried to revive him with oxygen, but unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful.
