LABOUR PARTY ASPIRANT, BUSINESS MAN SHOT DEAD IN IMO STATE

Mr Andrew Ugwuezumba A State House of Assembly in Imo State aspirant has been shot dead by a group of unknown killers.

Mr. Andrew, who was contesting under the platform of Labour Part [LP] was shot in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.

Obiangwu, from Umunehi was shot at the Airport Road, while Mr. Nnaji was shot few metres to the Airport Junction. Nnaji is from Umuohiagu, both in Imo State.

According to a source in Owerri, the resident have been linking to murder to politics --- while some are saying not such thing is possible and were not connected in any way.
The Bloom Gist was told that Andrew was returning in his Toyota Sequia sports utility vehicle, SUV from a meeting with some of the Labour Party members when the assassins overtook him and shot him.

Mr. Nnaji was reportedly shot at a very close range according to some of his bereaved relatives who summoned some courage to speak about the incident.

A resident who spoke with The Bloom Gist said, “The man [Nnaji] was driving home when the armed men gave him a hot chase and shot him several times at close range.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Andrew Enwerem, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, when contacted said the command was yet to get a report in line with the incident and that as soon as they do, they will begin a thorough investigation to fish out the killers.
